Bad Situations

Life is full of obstacles and challenges. Often we will encounter many tough situations in our life. Whenever we get 'hit', we will keep on thinking about the bad side of life. We will feel depressed and disappointed with ourself. We have no motivation to continue to move on. Here is a mindset that we should adopt deep inside our mind whenever we face the situations:

Everything that happens to me happens for a reason and it happens for my benefits.

When deep inside our mind we believe that everything happens whether its good or bad happens because of us and to our benefit, we will understand that no matter what had happens and no matter how hopeless the situation is, we will always be benefit from it.

Decisions

Life is just like a series of decisions making process. One needs to make many many decisions in one's life, no matter the decisions are big or small, important or not important. When we make a decision, we are not allow to choose both options. Because this is the rules of the game. We can only choose one option, no matter what is it. Because of this, most of us are scare of making decisions. By choosing one of the decision, we will lose the other one. We normally have the tendency of wanting to keep the other decisions as our backup. We scare of losing our backup.

Life is like trips on the ship. We are initially on a ship. When another better ship comes, we need to choose to move on or to stay. If we choose to move on to the other ship, we need to let go the current ship. We cannot be on both ship. So we keep on switching ship, we keep on making decisions.

The fact is we need to make decisions throughout our life. No matter we like it or not, we have to face it. This shows the importance of making decision. Other people can advise you on your decision, but they cannot make the decision for you. Only you will know the answer of your decision. When you don't know what decisions to make, the best decision is to follow your instinct. You instinct will tell you what to do.

Differences Between the Poor and the Rich

Poor and most middle-class people believe that "If I have some money, then I could do what I want and I will be a success. I will become rich by getting what rich people have like luxury car, branded watch, branded shoes & clothing, luxury electronic equipments and so on." More often they will not become rich in this way, instead they will be never become rich. They looks rich from outside, but every month they are over budget. They have no money left every month. All their money are paying for unneccesary expense and interest to the bank. Rich people do the reverse. They avoid buying unneccesary things that would eat up their wealth. They buy valuable things. They buy things that tends to appreciate over time or bring in passive income for them. By doing this, the value of what they earn will be increase over time. They buy good properties, good stocks, and they save money. Simply say they invest.

Rich people take advice from people who are richer than they are. Poor people take advice from their friends, who are just as broke as they are. If you want to know how to avoid what poor and most middle class doing and to be come rich, you should read Rich Dad's Guide to Investing

Fail is Temporary

Today I went to Singapore to do some presentation to our customer. The presentation is not very smooth as the customer try to act smart and asking a lot of questions. We are selling a new version of our system to them. After the presentation I have the feeling of failing. I feel that I am not able to perform well in the presentation. I was disappointed with myself.

Sometimes things like this does happens. When something go wrong, you will suddenly feel that yourself are useless. But I have also learnt that all this feeling are just temporary. When things like this happens, you just have to let it be and go on. Anyway this is life right. There are ups and downs in life. Life still have to go on. As long as you keep on doing your best and don't give up, then you will continue to improve.

What I am trying to remind myself and you is that 'fail' or the feeling of 'fail' is just a temporary things. Never get caught by this temporary things. Just go on with you life, this temporary things will just disappear sometimes down the road without you realizing it.

Networking

If you want to success, networking is a very crucial criteria. In any business, you must build up a network of customer, supplier and many other parties in order to survice. If you are a professional, you need to build up a network in your area of expertise. When people know you are expert, then you gain the credibility and your value will increase.

If you look at multi-level marketing, it is ultilising the power of networking. Don't misunderstanding that I am trying to promote you the multi-level marketing. I am not into this line. I just think that it is a very powerful way of doing things. The same happens to internet marketing. In internet marketing, if you have a huge list of email, then you can do well in promoting your products. Every email is equivalent to a customer.

In different situation, the form of networking will be different, but the concept is the same. Basically I you want to be success, you need a good networking.

Importance of Target

What is your target? What is your plan within 5 years? Many times when people ask us this question, we won't be able to answer. It is not that we do not want to answer, but rather that we don't know how to answer. The fundamental reason is that we ourself never think seriously about this question. Many will say, why do I need to have a target and a plan? Does that mean that by having a target and a plan I will be able to achieve it? Many of us don't believe and don't know the power of clear vision.

I myself have that kind of mentality where I think writing down of plan and target of what I want to achieve is of little use. I think it is only for documenation purpose. But however I tried to write down some of my target and see what will happen. After write down the plan and target, normally I will forget about it. Maybe once a year I will find some times to re-read what I have write down. However after a few years, I discovered that some of the target that I write down previuosly has been achieved, without me even think about it.

For example one of my target set a few years ago is to get a black belt in one of the martial arts that I learn. After 2++ years I wrote down the words, I got the black belt. Another example is that I have been want to become a Solution Architect in my carrer. I wrote down that I wanted to achieve it in 3 years when I was a software engineer. Now after 2 years I just realize that I am on that position.

Of course I'm not trying to say that everything that you wrote down will happens. It's all depends on deep inside yourself, which target is the most important to you. The more important it is to you, the more likely it will happens.

So I hope start from today, you can start writing down what you want to become, what you want to do. It will not happens immediately. But if you are patient enough, it will happen after some times.

Believe in Yourself

Many times when you wanted to do something especially something different, people will give you a lot of opinions. Bear in mind that those opinion can come from varieties of people including expert, expert in other fields, non-expert, and people who think they are expert but actually they are not. So when you listen to opinion, be careful. Especially those advices from anybody. Bear in mind that anybody can give advices.

If you think what you are doing is correct, then just do it. What is correct for you may not be correct for others. What is correct for others may not neccesary correct for you also. So when other people's opinion comes, just listen, i mean only listen. Stick to what you think is correct. If you can do this and you are smart enough, then you will success. Its only the matter of time.

Opinion are cheap. Anybody who think they are good (they think only) can give opinion. So when people give you advices, be extra careful, especially when it is free.

Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill is one of the best book on success that I have read. It is the classic works on the success matter.

I started to read this book since 7 years ago. I have read it more than 10 times. Every time I re-read the book, I get something new. The more times you read, the more you understand about success, and the better you are. Since I started to read this book, my life becomes more and more purposeful. I'm now able to know what I want and how to acheive what I want.

Think and Grow Rich is about the philosophy of success. It tells you how you should live a successful live. It is a very good books on general success strategy. You can apply this in many many areas of you life.
